Participate in Indigenous Peoples' Month by learning about the history of this Land from a First Peoples' perspective. The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an experiential workshop that explores Indigenous legacies, cultures, and traditions; but, also the injustice stemming from colonization. Participants are invited to assume the perspectives of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples as they move over territories represented by blankets laid out on the floor. This exercise is followed by a talking circle to help participants understand and build relationships with each other.
In this monthly program, play around with a different style of art each time and explore your creative side, with guided instructions to help you create fun works of art you can display in your home.
Follow along with a video tutorial to explore the technique of knotting rope to make a beautiful macramé plant hanger to display your favourite plant!
