Winter Programs

Red Cross - Babysitting

Want to be the next best babysitter? Come to the library and let the Canadian Red Cross prepare you for your first babysitting job! Learn important childcare skills and what to do in case of an emergency. 

This program is for ages 11-15 and registration is required. Please pre-register in the branch or by calling as space is limited.

The cost is $60 per participant.

Build-a-Fort

Test your building skills! Help us build an epic cardboard fort! You can bring your cardboard boxes or use ours to help us build the greatest cardboard you can imagine.

This free program is for all ages, however children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by an adult.

Break a Guinness World Record

Are you up for a challenge? Join us as we have fun attempting to break some World Records

This free program is for ages 7-12 and registration is required. Please pre-register in the branch or by calling as space is limited.

Please note: While children will not be asked to eat any food, smarties and dried pasta will be used during this program for activities.

Winter Wonderland

Dive into a world of winter magic in a fun-filled hour of games, crafts, science and fake snow.

This is a free program for all ages and registration is required. Please pre-register in the branch or by calling as space is limited.

Please note: We will be making our ice cream in a bag so please bring your winter gloves and note that we will be using half-and-half cream, vanilla, sugar and sprinkles are optional. While children will not be asked to eat any, marshmallows will be used during this program for activities.

 
Scratch Art Bookmark

Create your own unique bookmark by scratching your artistic designs onto a black surface to reveal vibrant rainbow colours - perfect for your next reading adventure!

This free program is for all ages.

Dungeons and Dragons - Holiday Adventure Afternoon

Bring your dice and join us for a Dungeons and Dragons Adventure Afternoon this holiday season, perfect for brand-new players! Bring a Level 1 character or use one of our pre-made characters and join the adventure!

The great Wizard Clausanta has invited guests to find a hidden treasure within their enchanted mansion, but beware of the traps and monsters that guard it!

This free program is for ages 8-17 and registration is required. Please pre-register in the branch or by calling as space is limited.

Build-a-Wand

Come to the Make-It Lab and make a magic wand! Thanks to our 3D printers and some other nifty bits, make your own wand with the magic of technology.

This program is for ages 8-15 and registration is required. Please pre-register in the branch or by calling as space is limited.

The cost is $5 per participant.

Chess & Board Games

Play chess with our Make-It Specialist, or try another board game with others. Do you have a game you want to try out? Bring it in!

This is a free drop-in program for ages 7 and up.

Crafts

In-Library Crafts

Throughout the two-week break, we will be offering simple crafts for you to complete while you are visiting one of our branches. Feel free to make it your own and then bring it home!

I Spy

Do you have a good eye? Come to the library and see what's hiding at your local branch! 

Find them all and get a sticker!

Great for ages 2-8 years, but everyone is welcome to try and find the clues!
